[DIECAST] Minichamps Review: Tyrrell Ford 007 1976 (A.Pesenti Rossi)

Hi guys,

Today we have another classic diecast review. This model is the Tyrrell 007 driven by Alessandro Pesenti Rossi during the 1976 Formula 1 season.

This car features a striking Gulf colour scheme and is limited edition model

1976 Formula 1 season

Niki Lauda won the 1975 World championship with Ferrari. James Hunt moved from Hesketh to McLaren and their rivalry continued. The championship would be held over 16 rounds. Niki Lauda would suffer a near fatal crash and sustain major burns to his face. He would return just two races later and take the championship down to the last race, where he would stop, leaving Hunt to win by just 1 point.

Alessandro Pesenti Rossi's F1 season

Alessandro raced a customer Tyrrell Ford 007 in the 1976 Formula 1 championship. He raced under the team name of Scuderia Gulf Rondini and entered 4 races. From the German GP to the Italian GP. Alessandro would qualify for 3 of the races but miss out in the Netherlands and wouldn't take part in the race.

Alessandro would not score points in his only season of F1 and as a result not be officially classified on the World Drivers championship.

My Thoughts

This is a stunning car. The GULF livery is an iconic livery that every motorsport fan recognises. It has featured in many if not all major motorsport series. This car with this livery are a nice combo. The engine detailing is fantastic as well as the engine is exposed. Its a shame that car and driver weren't more successful. But at least the car finished every race it started.

It is a great classic car and the Tyrrells are a family favourite. If you're like me and collect one team in particular (Force India) and that team is Tyrrell then you'll want this in your collection even though it isn't the works Tyrrell. It is also limited edition which I think is a nice touch and this car was produced in a time when Minichamps marked what number the car was!

You can BUY this car from Mcslots on eBay.

Thanks for reading.
