[DIECAST] Minichamps Review: Red Bull RB9 Bahrain Winner 2013 (S.Vettel)

Hi Guys,

Today I have a brand new Minichamps model. Which has been kindly donated to me by Mcslots. It's the Infiniti Red Bull RB9 driven by Sebastian Vettel. It is the car that he won the 2013 Bahrain GP. It's great to see that Minichamps produce cars from specific races because it gives fans options in which cars to get. Minichamps tend to make cars that have performed well at races if they don't intend to produce limited version.

2013 Bahrain GP.

Nico Rosberg qualified on Pole for Mercedes. Sebastian Vettel was second. Romain Grosjean qualified 11th and Kimi Raikkonen qualified 9th. Paul Di Resta qualified 7th in front of his teammate Adrian Sutil in 8th.

Nico Rosberg led into the first corner with Alonso and Vettel close behind. Adrian Sutil was clipped by Massa giving him a puncture and thus ending his point chances he would be behind former Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg in 13th. Fernando Alonso had DRS problems that forced him to make multiple stops. The failure of DRS meant he finished 8th. The two McLaren drivers were fighting tooth and nail with Perez beating his more experienced teammate Jenson Button. Pole sitter Rosberg fell down to 9th while Paul Di Resta had a career best of 4th just out of the podium. The Lotus drivers of Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean would battle which would cost them the chance of victory. But both finished on the podium with Raikkonen grabbing second place.

The end result was Sebastian Vettel won and increased his lead to 10 points over Kimi Raikkonen. The two podiums for Lotus meant that Lotus gained just 1 point in the constructors to Red Bull. (Mark Webber scored 6 points, meaning with Vettel's win equals 31 points and 32 for Lotus)

Red Bull left with 109 points in the constructers with Lotus trailing with 93 points. Force India more than doubled their points haul and moved up to 5th with 26 points, ahead of McLaren.

 Vettel's 2013 Championship.

Sebastian Vettel scored 16 podiums and suffered 1 retirement and his lowest finish was 4th in Chian and Spain. Vettel won 13 races. It was a dominant season. He scored 9 victories in a row. Vettel scored 397 points with Fernando Alonso finishing 2nd with 242 points.

The Model.

Product Code: 410130201
Scale:              1:43
Driver:             Sebastian Vettel
Year:               2013

Limited to:       1692 pieces

The usual information about the decals and mask sprays and tampo prints etc, wasn't on the official Minichamps site. But it is highly detailed. Vettel has his arm sticking up in Victory which is a nice touch. It's in 1:43 scale and excellently detailed.

My Thoughts.

It looks like Minichamps are trying to slowly release all of Vettel's 2013 victory cars. They have done the race winning cars from Germany India and Bahrain. You can also get a standard non-limited RB9 as well as a Showcar.

The extra details are great on these cars. Vettel with his hand in the air is a great touch. Vettel was known for his helmet changes which are very apparent. In all three limited cars, Vettel has a different helmet.  It's a shame I cannot give you exact details on this model, but it is clear it has more detail than the standard model. I will keep my eye on the Minichamps site to see if they release the details.

The car even comes in a personalised box.

You can BUY this car from Mcslots eBay store. It's a great price as well for Minichamps.

Thanks for reading.
